Ace would study the computer sitting before him, his heart pounding with the anticipation of finding another demon horde to go destroy. “Come on any strange deaths anywhere?” He would mutter to himself as he studied the bright computer screen. His eyes would then become foggy from the bright light, and he would slowly stand up looking out the window of his office. “Where the fuck are you, you little bastards?” He would mutter as he made his way over to a coffee pot, and poured himself a cup of the hot liquid.

The young man would take his cup of coffee with him to his desk, and would slowly take a drink careful not to burn his tongue. “Hopefully this will hold me over until I can find some action.” The young hunter would walk out of the office he had secluded himself in, and made his way outside to his car. Pushing the unlock button on his keychain he would unlock the doors of his mustang, the lights of the car would blink as the car unlocked itself. He would then open the door, and sit firmly in the driver seat of the car. Quickly, the man would fire up the car, and would speed off into the distance.

As he sped down the road the radio would blare, and the radio would blare:

“Hey, whats up folks this is Don, and Don with your late night night drive. We are going to be bringing you some of rock’s greatest hits. Up next on the block we will be hitting you with a little Saliva, and later on we will hit you with our classic block a little Rush, and CCR to settle your soul.”

Ace would listen to the solemn sound of the band, and his nerves would suddenly begin to relax themselves. “Man, you can’t beat a late night cruise with some amazing music!” He would mutter as his car sped down the road to a local burger joint. A deep growl that seemed to rage from the innards of his very being. “I guess this is my bodies way of telling me I need to go eat,” He would slowly pull into the driveway of the burger joint. A large neon sign that spelled out the word, ‘Rex’s’. This place was the local hangout, for their great food, and awesome games. He would climb out of his car, and make his way into the restaurant. He would walk to the counter, and the burly man standing behind it would mutter, “What can I get for you?”

“Mmmm, how about a Bacon cheeseburger combo, extra bacon!” He would order from the man.

The burlesque man would reply, “Have yourself a seat, and we will bring it right out to you.”

The young man would nod as he made his way to a table, the whole room was loud from the influx of teenagers that were inhabiting it. “Man, it is awfully loud in here. I wish my life was as carefree as theirs,” he would mutter as he relived a moment from his past. He was brought back to his childhood, being trained by his father, and then watching as his father was slaughtered by a demon. He would suddenly snap out of his daydream his hand slapping firmly against his forehead. His distress quickly diminished as the burly man brought him his food.

“Bacon cheeseburger combo, extra bacon, enjoy!” The man would mutter as he placed the food in front of him.

“Thank you,” The man would manage to muster. He would slowly pick up the greasy burger and would begin to take a bite from it. The taste on his pallet was exquisite, he couldn’t find the control to lay the burger down. He ate until nothing remained, and rose to his feet, and then walked to the register laying a 20 dollar bill on the counter. “Keep the change, that was amazing!” As he walked out the door he would leave his car in the parking lot, he had a lot on his mind, and had to clear it. Walking throughout the dim lit streets he would look at the street lights that were barely providing the necessary form of vision needed to guide safely through the darkness. The coolness from the wintry night air chilling him body to the very core, “It’s a great night for a walk,” He would joyfully mutter.

Some things were so hard to get used to. Night had always been beautiful- Soavay had always enjoyed how the world looked draped in shadows like a blanket. Not in a sinister way, but in a way that mimicked the eternal void that encompassed all. And yet, that darkness was broken, penetrated by the trillions and quadrillions of lights, not of stars, but of man. Homes, streetlamps, cars, down to their cell phones. Humans lived in and for light, even if they had ceased to fight for it.

And yet, humans were somehow supposed to sleep in the night, despite all the light and noises and distractions.

It was chilly. No snow, but according to Mr. Lane, that was rather normal for the area. DC and northern Virginia would get a little here and there, but not much in recent years. Sovay had seen snow before, but never felt it, so she wasn't sure if it was something to look forward to or not, just like the cold. The old gray wool coat was far too big for Sovay's lithe frame, but it was warm enough for going out, she supposed. She had a sweater on underneath of it, so she figured she'd be fine. But the cold was a new sensation still, just like heat, and the rain, not because she'd never known they existed, but because as an angel she'd never felt them.

Like hunger. She was still getting used to that hassle, too. She'd seen people eat, and collected enough people who'd choked to death or died of heart attack while eating, but never once had she ever cared to know what a French Fry even tasted like. But now it was late at night, most of the world around her was getting ready for bed, and Sovay was walking alone into the glow of lighted buildings in hopes of a store still being open so she could get some dinner since she had apparently not noticed that she'd nibbled her way through everything and according to Mr. Lane she couldn't just survive on tea.

Normally Sovay just ran to the corner store nearest the shop so she didn't have to walk far, but she also normally went in the day time, when it was open and humans were awake. So this was a bit of an adventure, alebit a slightly annoying one that made her wonder if she couldn't just wait until tomorrow to eat. After all, she'd managed on tea all day just fine. She'd live. Sovay tugged the old coat closer around her body as she walked past hte parking lot of a diner, the smell of greasy things filling the cool air and hanging on it. She wasn't sure if they smelled good or not. But she paused, looking around, and for a moment was rather uncertain. Where... was a store? Sovay sighed, grumbling as she pulled out the folded sheet of paper. Mr. Lane had given her directions over the store's phone how to get there... but they all consisted of walking down the road a piece, turning left at the second light, going up toward the Mall and past it.... None of which made any sense to Sovay at all, so she'd just gone straight and now was even more confused. WHICH light? DC was FULL of lights!

Clearing of the Mind-Ace's Intro (Open) Empty Re: Clearing of the Mind-Ace's Intro (Open)

Post by Roll Fizzlebeef Tue Jul 30, 2013 2:45 pm

Fizzlebeef bolted down the sidewalk in the cold February night. The frozen air nipped at every inch of his body, but Fizzlebeef was trying his best to power though it. He had agreed to meet a friend at 9:30 tonight, and he had no doubts that he was already late even though he lacked a watch. His arm bracer made it difficult for his arm to swing back and forth to keep balance, so in stead he held it outward and behind him a small bit and let his right arm alone keep his balance.

Ugh, I can't believe I forgot about meeting up with Kyle and the guys, I'm so-

"D'OH!" Fizzlebeef shouted as he unexpectedly tripped over his own boot. He fell so perfectly that every square inch of his face hit the frozen cement ground in one instant. His voice cracked as he landed, repeating his surprised yelp as he bounced up an inch or so back into the air before hitting the sidewalk a second time for another faceplant. After a moment of anguish, Fizzlebeef began to groan as he sluggishly lifted his arms into the air to place his hands on the ground just under his shoulders. As he pushed himself up off the ground he could feel a warm sensation slowly dripping down the side of his nose. he brought his scratched-up hand up to feel it and it came back coated in blood. Great, he must have ripped open his scar again. He could never really tell why, but the scar on his nose never seems to fully heal and likes ripping back open when placed under stress. Ah well. Fizzlebeef couldn't much about it for now, but once he got to Kyle's he would at least have access to bandages and thread, or if nothing else... fire.

After a few moments, the recent turn of events began to click in his head and his face and palms began to sting with a special brand of violent pain only able to be inflicted by the level of coarseness that street pavement or sidewalks can provide. He knew that even minor head wounds could bleed enough to make it seem like a mortal crisis, but with that said he still felt it necessary to at least try to stop the profuse bleeding. He held his arm bracer up and pressed the chilled metal scales against his nose. The pain was off charts to the point where his eyes began to water and he was uncontrollably whimpering; the exposure to cold did slow the flow of blood, though the naive Fizzlebeef was hoping it would outright freeze it shut - not to mention there was just enough blood to make it difficult to notice if the flow had truly slowed down.

Thinking his idea had failed, Fizzlebeef decided it was now even more imperative that he reach Kyle's pad ASAP. Starting off slow but gaining momentum, he began to jog along the sidewalk once more before screeching to halt, almost falling over again. He saw a shadow in the distant moonlight. Wondering who on earth it could be, he tried his best to silence his breathing and walk at a normal pace so as to better follow the shadow inconspicuously. He never knew anyone to be out in this neck of D.C. at night, and the beast named curiosity had dug its claws into Fizzlebeef once again.
