DESCRIPTION:
Jerome looks very average. There's nothing really special about him, besides a few features. His hair is a light chestnut in color, reaching the middle of his back in a slim tail. His bangs tend to curve upwards in crescent-like shapes. His skin is lightly tanned, though either from the Louisiana sun or from just pure Creole genetics is unknown. His eyes are what some would call "envy" green, very bold like a cobalt's blue and dark. These are seen behind the small windows of his oval, silver framed glasses. His left ear is pierced with a pure silver ring, while the other is bare. His jawline ends in a very distinct point, which highlights his heavily defined collarbone and neck. His body is only slightly muscular and is very slim and tall, standing at 6' 3" when he doesn't slouch (and even though his parents tried, they never fixed that bit). His primary ensemble is a pair of jeans and t-shirts, usually with a over or trench coat. His face doesn't see smiles often, or even open most of the time so it's usually just a flat line. In Inferis however, his body tenses with more muscle and is covered in leather and fur armor, with metal bracers and boots as well. Just like a certain character from a certain video game. At work, he often wears a leather vest and pants, with a spiked belt buckle for effect. His face is covered in a black bandana while his head is covered in a black duster hat. His hands are clad in finger-less gloves as they wrap around a whip. At work, his name is Indy.

PERSONALITY:
Jerome, in a broad...very broad sense, is a mild mannered gamer. He buys his groceries with as little communication as possible, doesn't concern himself with others' problems (besides anyone he remotely cares about), and completely closed within his own bubble. His bubble revolves around his television, but more importantly, the consoles connected to it. He owns everything from the NES up to current gen and is still playing through his early library. Around the populous, he's very closed off, very selective on who he decides to talk to or what he does, but at home, he gets competitive, he gets excited. He gets his hands on that controller and goes to town, showboating and doing the most impressive most often. He outranks many in the Ultimate Combatant leader-boards and is known as the Combo King. He settles for nothing less than perfect execution in games, using the most impressive moves he can. He's somewhat of a dick in this aspect. His years of gaming have honed his reflex and he is inwardly frigidity. Even with gaming, he finds that he can be more impressive and be the top dog at everything. He likes a great domineering sense over others, which makes him very difficult to work with. This dominating aspect makes him a great sadist, and a top request at D.C. Dungeon. Even with all this being said, he hates evil. Especially that of demons and dedicates much of his time to their eradication.

Several of these aspects carry over to Inferis. His sadism reaches an all time high against demons and his want to show off grows exponentially. He lashes and smiles and makes very sick comments about his infliction of pain. It's almost hellishly twisted, but Jerome tries to keep his wits about him and remember he goes for a reason, but why not have a little fun? He enjoys both killing demons and torturing the ones left alive, giving him that boost that no game can, just like his job...because it's real. He likes to keep it going, dragging it on with little empty time of nothing because wasted time is a wasted lash.

Narcissism. Pride. A thirst for power. Three things that have further developed in the short month of confusion that has befallen this man. Embarrassed and driven by his failure at the Den of Demons raid, Jerome's only concern at the moment is not only himself, but making himself unbeatable. His negative traits have been enhanced by recent events and have made him more distant, brutal, and driven. He refuses to let his pride be damaged any further. But along with this, he's actually been going through changes in the RIGHT direction. While he didn't care for anyone but himself before, he actually does help others, only to make himself better in the public eye, but secretly because of a changing personality that is confusing him to no end.

HISTORY:
Jerome Belmont Fontaine was born to Sofia Belmont and Jacques Fontaine in the St. Ives Memorial Hospital on April 24, 1993, deep in the heart of creole society: Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The pretense of his birth was an amazement to begin with. His mother was a lawyer, his father a fisherman, brought together by some strange happenstance meeting. They fell in love and remained in wedded bliss for many years. They had their first and only child, Jerome. He was, by all means, not the bouncing baby boy that they had expected, but he was not an outrageous hell spawn either. No, for the most part as a child, Jerome sat, lied down, crawled, and ate with this very estranged look on his face, somewhere on the border of boredom and mystified. He had wandering eyes and they never stayed to focus, but the gaze was always the same. He looked around, explored, normal infant behavior, except that he never laughed or smiled. Nothing entertained him to the point of doing so.

Until he found his father's NES. Jacques got it as a parting gift from his younger brother and had it hooked into the television. Needless to say, it was rarely played, that is until, Jerome found it. 5 years of a blank expression and he had his first eyebrow raise when he finally found it. He turned it on and took up the plastic rectangle that was the controller. Castlevania lit up the screen. It blew his 5 year old mind. From there, his affair with the franchise could be described as a marriage, going no where without one or three copies of the games on his person at a time. He got through most of his grades with it, passing by the skin of his teeth, but his parents were still proud of him. They were happy with anything he did, really. To an almost worrying degree. He made it through middle school without much difficulty, but soon his mother's interest in law carried over to politics and they moved to Washington, D.C. Jerome took his games and had no qualms with the move, he left nothing important in that town.

Soon, high school came around and...then she came. Decked in black, blonde hair, killer attitude, and a pension for those tall guys, her name was Danielle. She took a liking to Jerome in the most obvious ways, leading him around on the first day, sitting by him at lunch...texting naked pictures of herself to his phone...she was rather blunt. Jerome was not so much a fool to say no, so the gamer slowly became more and more open towards her and her friends. They were in that "darker" demographic, mostly couples that had, what it seemed, abusive relationships. But as Jerome came to find out, it wasn't quite it. Danielle was a submissive, and even scarier, a SMART submissive. She saw a blank slate and decided to write on it, and the word was "dominant". Soon, the connections were made and Jerome was turned into the domineering young man most people get to meet, and showed off his "pet" at any time. After several months, the two decided about "taking the relationship past meaningless threat". But Jerome's night would be ruined. Cause once he walked up the steps of Danielle's house...he was gone.

But to him, there was just crumbling. The air turned acrid and the sky a deep red, buildings turned to ruins thousands of years old in a matter of seconds. His body felt...changed. Stronger. Better. Harder....He was clad in red and black leather and fur, armor covering his shoulders, arms, and legs. The fuck...where was he? It was...scary, unnerving...fucking evil shit. And lo', he saw them. Malnourished pasty skinned creatures crouched like hunchbacks over a red skinned corpse. They sniffed the air as Jerome stood there, paralyzed in fear. Then they ran at him. They moved in a pack-like formation, flanking on all three sides as Jerome held up his arms. They bounded and growled for his swollen body. More meat, yum.

Jerome needed a weapon. He needed safety. He needed to bruise these guys. To fucking destroy them. And like a gift from God, a leather bound whip...materialized into his hand. He just lashed it as fast as he could and caught one of them across the face. It tore half of it off. He looked at it and saw glints of metal along the whip. Blades. Ooooohohohooho~ His eyes lit up. His fear left him and replaced with that sadistic nature Danielle gave him. He lashed and whipped like he never had and destroyed the pack. He stood there, soaked in blood, smiling like a maddened Dr. Stein with a whip coiled at his feet.

But the need to get home set in. He felt his head race as the city reverted itself around him. It was the dead of night and he was back in his normal clothes. He ran home. Ran as fast as he could. He got his parents together and told them and found a psychologist's number. Then they told him.

The Belmonts and Fontaines have gone back as far as the 14th century as Demon Hunters. They have a history together as the most ambiguous in terms of relationships, coming extremely close to binding the clans several times over. Until now. With the birth of Jerome, the son of the two most successful families was made, a weapon against Demons in the most potent form. But...Jacques and Sofia wanted different for their son. But they didn't stop him when he decided that his life would revolve around this new world.

Inferis. Neat.

On one cheery afternoon, Jerome thought it would be fun to put a book in the window of his business; a book on Demon Hunting. He always wondered about the existence of others like him in his home, so he put this out as a sort of advertisement. And wouldn't you know it? Jerome was lucky enough not to see one, but two, though it was more like seeing double. The two in question were twins, Pulean & Jinhong Jangmi, both beautiful and even a bit...odd, even by Jerome's standards. They didn't make much small talk, but what they DID do was pass along a few bits of information. One, there was a Den in need of clearing. Two, there were two more Demon Hunters he would get to meet in that time. How could he say no to crushing demons?

The twins, while pleasant in their own right, had led him to Lazarus Carter and Yuuko Koizumi. Laz...was pretty average. Nothing truly outstanding about him at first glance, 'cept maybe the hair. He didn't exhume alot of confidence or leadership, even though he had "organized" this little raid. But he had POTENTIAL for a newbie. Jerome knew a thing or two about potential. His potential to being a dominating master of pain was certainly tapped. Yuuko...was being a try-hard the ENTIRE time. It was cute almost, so tsundere in her nature. Trying to be badass, trying to be that strong, silent type, trying to hardcore. Sure, that seemed like what Jerome did, with a few differences. One of them being he wasn't strong and silent, he was loud, maniacal, and fun-loving and when he became badass, he succeeded instead of failing miserably and becoming dead weight.

Even then, Jerome realized he could be beaten. Near the end of their encounter, Jinhong had entered a berserker-like state, slaughtering anything that seemed remotely demon like. Jerome, with his almost evil battle tendancies and his habit of speaking Demonic in Inferis, was almost decapitated by her katana. Thanks to some sisterly love, however, he was spared, but no without a scratch. Not just a scratch, a deceptive, yet deep cut. Their cadre of Hunters weren't alone, though; the Templar Order had come into play inside the multiplex that was another hub of Aviax. There, with adrenaline and blood pumping, it found its way promptly out of his wound as the Demon Hunters ran for home as he spiraled to the ground.

What came next? Well, it wasn't Hell. A nice bed...a nice house in the country...and the head Templar of the assault squad he had met the day prior. Not only that, but a drop-dead gorgeous little number named Lisa. God, there was just...something about her. Something so nice and so sweet, not just her sweet tooth, but something...either way, it confused him. During the month of "detainment", Jerome had been delegated to regular house and yard work for the Smiths, with free meals and a bed too! Unfortunately, he hadn't been allowed out too much, so going into the Dungeon was a big no-no...so after 3 years of faithful work, Indy had to hang up his hat for the last time.

And as this came about, Jerome began to dwell longer and longer on the sign of weakness he showed in that battle. He needed power...strength. He needed to train. So that he would always be number one.

-Gets incredibly moreso...giddy about domineering and gets more aggresive and determined to the point of superhuman effort and bullheadedness

WEAKNESSES:
-His love of flashy moves often make him a target. Sublty isn't a strong suit of his.
-Not the fastest on foot, so running isn't often an option.
-At close quarters, his fists and garroting the enemy are his only option at this point. Better at mid distance.

Also why is his middle name taken from his mother's surname instead of his father's forename?

Also you can throw in Demon as a spoken tongue, since it is inherited, and gained in puberty.

Jacques wanted to have both family names in his son's name, so that his middle name.
